A case study published by the Journal of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery in April 2011 reviews two case studies diagnosed with AFRS (Allergic Fungal Rhinosinusitis) who have undergone functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS). Both patients were treated with manuka honey irrigation for a 12-week period after failing maximal medical management and the outcomes were analysed.
